Aloha and Welcome to the Kahiau Pacific Foundation!
The Kahiau Pacific Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation organized in the State of Hawaii in December of 2014. Submission of a federal 501c3 application is in process. The Foundation has no members; it is governed by a Board of Directors.
The Foundation seeks to improve the “Wellness” of Native Hawaiians through a broad agenda. Wellness is defined as a state of well-being. As reviewed at www.definitionofwellness.com, Charles B. Corbin of Arizona State University provides the definition as “a multidimensional state of being describing the existence of positive health in an individual as exemplified by quality of life and a sense of well-being.”
The multi-dimensional aspects of Wellness include the following: social, occupational, spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, environmental, financial, mental, and medical. The Foundation is the majority owner of Kahiau Pacific LLC a for-profit company with its primary emphasis on health care services. The Foundation will work closely with Kahiau Pacific LLC and other collaborators who foster the Vision of Wellness for Native Hawaiians.
